Alignment: How to Create Your Life with Intention
In my AAA framework, Alignment is the final piece to the puzzle of real transformation. Alignment means bringing all levels of your being—such as thoughts, feelings, actions, and beliefs—into harmony with your desired outcome.
Popular practices like manifestation touch on this by visualizing and feeling your dream life, but often fall short because deeper levels remain misaligned. True alignment is when every part of you supports your vision, meaning “failure” is simply misalignment, and transformation is a matter of utilizing alignment practices.
Alignment is the final (and often missing) piece that makes transformation possible.
But what does alignment mean?
It means aligning all of your “levels of creation” (we’ll talk about what these are later in this post) with your desired outcome.
A good and familiar example of this would be the popular practice known as manifestation. That practice teaches you to visualize your desired outcome, then feel as if it has already come true with all your senses: you see it with your mind’s eye, you hear what people in your dream scenario would speak, you smell the scents around you, and even taste your favorite drink.
Then, you feel the feelings associated with this dream scenario, and so on.
That is alignment: You align your thoughts and feelings towards your desired outcome.
And that is all well and good, but it’s only one part of the puzzle.
That’s why manifesting your dream life often fails, because you are still misaligned on the most powerful levels of creation.
You say you want one thing, but you feel something else, act differently, and deep down… don’t even believe it’s possible.
But you shouldn’t call it a failure: It’s just a misalignment.
So think about the stories of spiritual masters who can heal the sick or walk on water.
While that may feel far from your reality, there’s one thing they know how to do that you can start doing too: aligning fully with their desired outcome on all levels of creation.
Key Takeaways
1. You’re Always Creating Your Life
Life doesn’t just “happen” to you. You are constantly creating it through your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, words, and actions. Whether you realize it or not, you’re shaping your reality every moment.
2. Misalignment Creates Mixed Results
Manifestation fails when your different levels of creation (mind, emotions, and actions) contradict each other. Saying you want one thing while feeling or acting differently leads to confusion and scattered outcomes.
3. Alignment Unlocks Transformation
True transformation happens when all levels—thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and actions—consistently point toward the same desired outcome. This conscious alignment is the difference between random results and creating your life with clarity and power.
A Simple Example about Alignment
Imagine placing an order at a restaurant. You tell the waiter you want pizza.
Then change your mind and ask for soup. Then fish. Then fries.
Eventually, nothing gets delivered. Or maybe everything gets delivered.
Creating your life works the same way. You choose what you want on many different levels, and often what you choose on one level contradicts your choice on another.
Ever thought your life is a mess?
That’s because you are getting wildly mixed results from creating on different levels.
So misalignment creates in your life a mixed bag of results, usually not resembling what you had in mind.
And that’s just the point:
What you “have in mind” is just one part of choosing what to manifest.
You also choose (create) on many other levels:
- words
- actions
- intuition
- logic
- emotion
- subconscious thoughts
- beliefs
- habits
- etc.
How Creating Your Life Really Works
To understand the power and necessity of alignment, you must first understand how you create your life.
No matter how it may seem, you are not a passive observer reacting to life’s circumstances.
You are a creator, in charge of creating your life.
This is true whether you believe it or not, but the power of alignment becomes apparent once you start creating consciously instead of reacting to life subconsciously.
There’s a lot of talk about manifestation, the law of attraction, the law of resonance, the law of mirroring, “thoughts become things”—whatever you call it.
And it’s become popular for a good reason, because it reflects a deep truth: this is how life works.
You’re not passively observing life and reacting to it, but constantly creating it.
“The universe” responds to your thoughts, emotions, beliefs, words, and actions, arranging circumstances to match your inner state.
Are You Creating Consciously or Unconsciously?
With what was just discussed in mind, the question is not “Can I create my dream life?”, but “Am I creating my life consciously or unconsciously?”
That’s how life works, and that’s the secret of life that spiritual masters have known and talked about for millennia.
It’s the lack of alignment that separates you from a spiritual master who can create whatever they want in life.
Spiritual masters choose every thought, word, and action with full awareness and inner harmony, choosing the same outcome over and over again until it manifests in their physical reality (which is often quite quickly in the master’s state of alignment).
But, even if you understand how manifestation works, you may still feel like your manifestations are delayed or not showing up at all.
So here’s the missing part: Your manifestations aren’t blocked, and you haven’t failed in manifesting. Not getting what you want is a sign of misalignment—conflict between what you consciously want and what you unconsciously believe or expect.
The Law of Choosing
The Law of Attraction only scratches the surface.
The deeper truth is what we can call the Law of Choosing: in every moment, you’re making tens if not hundreds of choices—consciously or unconsciously—that ripple outward and ultimately become your life.
Some choices are obvious, like deciding to change jobs or start a relationship.
Others are subtle, like holding on to an old belief that “I’m not worthy,” or unconsciously choosing fear over trust when challenges appear.
Every experience you’ve had is a reflection of these choices.
If your life feels like a mess, it’s because some (or most) of your choices are happening on autopilot, based on outdated patterns or emotions you haven’t yet noticed.
You are getting everything you want. It’s just that you want so many different things on different levels of creation.
When you bring awareness to this truth—that you are always creating through your choices—you step out of passive living and into conscious creation.
Life stops being random, and you begin to direct your energy toward what you truly want.
The Levels of Creation: Body, Mind, and Spirit
You are creating your life on three interconnected levels: Body, Mind, and Spirit.
When these levels work together in harmony, your intentions gain real power. When they are misaligned, your results come out scattered and confusing.
There are also levels of creation within these main levels. Let’s take a look at the most important ones.
1. Body
Body – The level of physical expression and action
Words & Communication – what you speak into the world.
Actions & Habits – the behaviors you repeat daily.
Lifestyle & Environment – how you treat your body and the surroundings you place yourself in.
The body is where creation takes form through your actions, habits, and behaviors.
What you do in the physical world is a direct signal to the universe about what you’re choosing.
For example, saying you want health but consistently neglecting rest or nutrition sends out a contradictory message. Your body’s actions need to support your vision, not sabotage it.
2. Mind
Mind – The level of thought and inner narratives
Logic & Reasoning – the stories and conclusions you draw.
Beliefs & Conditioning – the programs you’ve picked up from family, culture, and past experiences.
Imagination & Intuition – the creative and intuitive impulses that offer new possibilities.
- Emotions & Feelings – your energetic state and how you vibrationally “broadcast” into the world.
The mind shapes creation through thoughts, beliefs, intuition, logic, and emotion.
If you desire abundance but secretly believe “money is bad” or “I’ll never have enough,” your mind will unconsciously steer you away from opportunities.
The mind can also be separated into two main sub-levels: The conscious mind and the subconscious mind.
The Subconscious Mind is the vast storehouse of hidden memories, patterns, and automatic responses. This is where most of your choices are made without your awareness. If your subconscious holds limiting beliefs like “I’m not good enough,” those patterns will override your conscious intentions until they’re brought into awareness and realigned.
The mind can be your greatest ally or your biggest obstacle, depending on what you allow it to hold onto.
3. Spirit
3. Spirit – The level of energy, meaning, and connection
Authentic self – Who you really are and what you want to do with your life, behind all the learned behavior and habits.
Values & Purpose – your deeper “why,” the meaning behind what you do.
Connection to Source – your sense of unity with life, the universe, or however you define the greater whole.
The spirit creates through your inner energy—your sense of connection to something greater than yourself. Spirit is where your deepest truths reside. If you feel unworthy or disconnected from the source energy, no amount of positive thinking will bridge the gap. But when your spirit aligns with love, trust, and possibility, it empowers your mind and body to act in harmony.
The AAA Framework for Creating Your Life with Intention
Manifestation isn’t just about forcing yourself to “think positively” or reciting affirmations while deep down you still doubt.
Real manifestation happens when your body, mind, and spirit are aligned towards your desired end result.
That means working on your beliefs, emotions, thoughts, and actions, aligning them towards the same outcome.
But alignment can’t happen in a vacuum.
First comes Awareness. You can’t shift what you can’t see. Awareness means noticing the hidden choices and patterns that shape your life—your beliefs, emotional reactions, and unspoken expectations.
It’s asking yourself:
What story am I telling myself about who I am and what’s possible?
How do I feel when life doesn’t go my way?
What do I really expect deep down?
Once you bring these patterns into the light, you may not always like what you find.
This is where Acceptance enters. Acceptance is about meeting yourself honestly and compassionately. Instead of fighting your fears, guilt, or doubts, you acknowledge them as part of your current reality. When you stop resisting what is, you free up the energy to create what can be.
And from this place of awareness and acceptance, Alignment becomes possible. You begin to choose consciously:
New beliefs that support your vision.
New emotional responses that strengthen your energy.
New actions that confirm your commitment to change.
Together, Awareness, Acceptance, and Alignment form a cycle.
Awareness opens your eyes, Acceptance opens your heart, and Alignment channels your energy toward your desired outcome.
Clarity leads to compassion, and compassion leads to power.
When all three steps work together, manifestation is no longer a struggle.
Instead, it becomes the natural expression of who you are.
Practicing Alignment: IVA (Imaginal Visual Alignment)
One of the most practical ways to bring your body, mind, and spirit into harmony is through something I call Imaginal Visual Alignment (IVA).
Unlike traditional meditation, IVA isn’t about sitting in silence for hours or striving to “empty your mind.”
The word meditation often carries baggage: images of monks in caves or teachers who’ve dedicated their entire lives to practice. That comparison can make a simple 10-minute practice feel “less than.”
IVA removes that pressure. It’s not meditation, but guidance for your mind, body, and spirit.
At its core, Imaginal Visual Alignment is the practice of creating a clear mental image of your desired state and aligning your energy, thoughts, and actions with it.
Neuroscience and sports psychology confirm that visualization activates many of the same brain pathways as real experiences.
In other words, when you repeatedly see and feel your desired outcome, your mind begins treating it as familiar, and your body naturally moves toward it.
It’s like giving your mind a map and your body a compass. Instead of stumbling through the day on autopilot, you carry with you a vivid anchor that pulls you back into alignment whenever you drift.
Imaginal Visual Alignment Practice
How to Practice IVA
Imaginal Visual Alignment is a simple daily practice that helps you align body, mind, and spirit toward your desired outcome. Follow these steps to experience it yourself:
1. Find Your Position
Sit comfortably in a chair, on a sofa, or on a pillow on the floor. No need to cross your legs—just keep your back straight but relaxed, chest slightly open. Rest your hands on your legs with palms facing upward.
Alternatively, lie down on your back with feet shoulder-width apart, arms relaxed at your sides, palms facing upward. Choose whichever feels most natural.
2. Close Your Eyes and Breathe
Take three slow, deep breaths.
Inhale deeply through your nose.
Hold for a moment.
Exhale fully through your mouth.
Repeat three times, letting tension release with each exhale.
3. Set the Screen
Imagine a large screen about six feet in front of you, like a movie or TV screen. Make it as big and bright as you like—preferably a clean white background.
4. Begin with Your Current Reality
On the screen, picture yourself in your current situation.
See it in black and white, and don’t let it fill the whole screen—just a small image. This helps you “set the scene” without giving it too much weight.
5. Clear the Slate
Imagine the brightest white light washing over the screen, wiping the old image away until nothing remains but pure white.
6. Project Your Goal
Now, picture yourself in a situation where your goal is already achieved.
Fill the entire screen with this new image—bright, vivid, and alive.
Engage all your senses: What do you see, hear, smell, touch, even taste? The more sensory detail you add, the more real it becomes to your mind and body.
7. Step Into the Feeling
Don’t just watch—step into the scene. Imagine you are living it right now.
Feel the emotions that come with it: joy, calm, confidence, gratitude, excitement. Let the feeling spread through your body.
8. Stay As Long As You Like
There’s no right or wrong duration. Stay in the visualization for as long as it feels good.
9. Seal It with Gratitude
When you’re ready to finish, slowly count down from 10 to 1.
As you count, shift into gratitude. Thank life, the universe, or your higher self as if what you imagined has already happened.
Release any pressure or expectation. Affirm gently: “This is my preference—but I allow for something even better to come.”
Conclusion: Don't try to Manifest - Align Your Levels of Creation
There’s so much more to alignment than can be covered in one blog post, but at its core, alignment is about bringing your body, mind, and spirit into harmony with your goals and intentions.
It matters because misalignment (when your thoughts, feelings, and actions contradict each other) creates confusion, scattered results, and missed opportunities.
True alignment allows you to move through life with clarity, purpose, and ease, turning your intentions into natural, effortless creation.
By practicing awareness, acceptance, and tools like Imaginal Visual Alignment, you give yourself the power to consciously shape your reality and live in sync with what you truly want.
